Tips on Time Management

Lack of timemanagement skills can be the cause of massive stress in your life. Learn some basic tips here and put them to use!

Make Time For Yourself

ACK! There is just never enough time in the day to get everything done on your list, never mind finding a few minutes for yourself to give you some balance and calm.

But you know that it is important that you make time for yourself. Whether it's exercising, reading a book, or watching a movie you want to see.

You just don't know how to find or make that bit of time for yourself!

Well, getting a handle on good time management is just as important to improve your personal home life as it is for your time management in the workplace!

They say in studies done, that with exercise each day that you can be more productive, and learn to manage your time better. If you only get a small portion of time, do it for yourself.

Make sure you work these things out between pressing deadlines, or major projects at work.

In your life there are many different areas we all need to maintain balance with. You have health, financial, family, spiritual, social, professional, and intellect.

You do not have to spend equal amounts of time at each day, but make sure each gets some time. When one of these areas is neglected, it can cause you difficulties in other parts of your life.

If you neglect your health, then you and your family suffer. Neglecting your financial problems can make it difficult for you to concentrate in other areas. So stay balanced.

It's a strange thing, but when you are dreading something,
and would give anything to slow down time, it has a
disobliging habit of speeding up.

Keep your desk tidy and organised to save time

Keeping your workstation clean and organized can make jobs and tasks your facing, faster and easier to accomplish.

Set up a place to work that's equipped with the items you'll need, such as paperclips, stapler, pens, pencils, and other stuff, and this will save you time from jumping up and going to find it.

If you check out your bosses work area, it is probably straight and organized. Doing this can help keep you more focused and productive.

Keep a plan of action for each day regardless of other people demanding otherwise. Set your own times for phone calls, setting appointments, checking e-mail, etc.

When doing one task, always be focused, take a message, or jot notes about another if they come in between the task at hand. If you need privacy to finish a job at work, put up a sign letting people know to come back later because you're busy right now.

Do what you need to make the most of your time management. Others will hopefully understand.

Try to be more organized. Keep papers, receipts and documents that are important where you know they will be when you need them.

Become Aware of Where Your Time Goes

Do you ever stay aware of how you spend, and invest your time? Make time to invest in yourself, and your life. Choosing how to use time, and using it well, will determine your accomplishments.

So many of us tend to waste huge amounts of time doing nothing. We watch too much TV, diddle dawdle on the internet with nothing in mind to look at, that we even need right now, or too much time dreaming in magazines.

Don't rob yourself of sleep either. Sometimes we cut our sleeping time down so we can catch up on something that should have been done during those wasted hours. Shame, shame, shame.

MAKE A CHANGE.

Keep in mind what is more important. Write it down. Make goals so you can check yourself on them later.

Do what is needed now, and what can be done later. If while doing something on your do now list, you suddenly realize it isn't as important, put it on a later list.

Try to start in the morning with the priority things and get the not so priority things done in the afternoon. Learn what you are doing that is wasting your time and try to eliminate it.

Watches are so named as a reminder - if you don't watch
carefully what you do with your time, it will slip away
from you.

Every minute of time, if not used wisely, basically winds up wasted.

You know, those fun conversations on the phone with your friends, family, work, too much TV, and whatever, take up time.

You need to set your goals and utilize your time accordingly. Time once it is gone is something we can never get back. The good news is that once you learn the art and develop the skill of effective time management techniques, you will also find it much simpler to achieve your goals, and usually you do so in much less time spent than you first expected!

Everything we do with our time, and how we use it, makes a difference in everything that happens after that. A wise person was telling me about the binder they made for their bills, and a housekeeping.

It took some time to put together a plan, and schedule, but once it was followed accordingly, it worked perfectly. Get organized.

Easier said than done, but CAN help so much with managing your time.

Time, the cradle of hope.... Wisdom walks before it,
opportunity with it, and repentance behind it: he that has
made it his friend will have little to fear from his
enemies, but he that has made it his enemy will have little
to hope from his friends.

~ Charles Caleb Colton ~
